The past month and a half has been so exciting. From seeing my dream school in person at the University of Massachusetts Amherst to visiting Philadelphia and presenting at the Eastern Psychological Association’s Annual Conference, my life has been on the road for the past three weeks. The next week brings even more travel as I venture off to Houston for ACPA’s Annual Conference and NextGen Undergraduate Conference!!
Professional development has definitely been at the forefront of my mind recently. Why? Well, because you are looking at the newest Community Standards Graduate Assistant for the Office of Residential Education. This is an amazing new opportunity for me and I know it will be a great experience!
So what will my next chapter look like? Budgeting, graduation, apartment hunting, an internship in Tennessee for the summer, more budgeting, and getting ready to be a real adult living off-campus for the first time in 4 years. As much as I was excited for the chance to be in a live-on position, the opportunities that having an off-campus position entails is amazing. I think separation of work and life is necessary especially as I enter this role that I have never worked in before.
I am both nervous and excited for the challenge!! Expect some conference posts over the next week!
